Who We Are

About Diana Children's Nursing Service

In 1999, the Department of Health funded for a 3-year period a small number of children’s community nursing teams in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales. These are known as Diana Children’s Nursing Services. This leaflet aims to explain the role of the team of nurses who provide this service within the North Wales area, how to contact them and how to access the service.

The service was established to provide support to children and young adults (from birth to 19 years of age) with life threatening or life limiting conditions. This support is also extended to their families.

We will do this by:

Working in partnership with statutory & voluntary agencies and parents in order to support families in caring for their child.
Providing high quality nursing care that is specific to the individual child.
Supporting families and agencies with education and training programmes on an individual or group basis.
Act as a main point of contact for all agencies to prevent duplication of services. This will be done by working with other agencies to explore available resources.
